Building technical rooms filled with women engineers
She Bytes Back is a community of 3,600+ experienced women engineers in London. We run technical AI events and curated experiences for software engineers.
We got tired of counting the women at technical AI events on one hand...
So we made one where they fill the WHOLE room!
Introducing: The She Bytes Back AI Series
Technical AI events exclusively for experienced women engineers that are heavily curated and approval only.
We get into how senior engineers are ACTUALLY using AI at work including the workflows, the experiments, what broke, what's saving hours and what's absolutely not worth the hype.
Prev events had: 88% have 5+ years' experience. 7.4 years on average.
More ways to learn, build, connect and grow
The AI Series is just one way we bring the community together.
We’re delivering unique experiences including hands-on build sessions and technical talks to career conversations and smaller curated gatherings, we're creating the kinds of spaces we wanted to see more of in tech. Basically, ones that are useful, genuinely technical in a space where you genuinely feel welcome and seen.
We've worked with Figma, Canva, Synthesia, incident.io, Depop and more to create experiences for the community - with plenty more to come!
Our community brings together experienced women engineers from some of the world's most exciting engineering teams.

Experienced women engineers!
Our community includes Software Engineers, Product Engineers, Backend Engineers, Founding Engineers, ML & AI Engineers, Forward Deployed Engineers, Staff and Principal Engineers, plus women in technical and engineering leadership.
Basically, if you build things for a living, there's a very good chance you'll find your people here.
Our flagship events are curated and approval only, with experience requirements depending on the event.
-
Nope. We're much more interested in your experience than the exact title sitting underneath your name on LinkedIn.
Some of our events have specific experience requirements because we carefully curate who's in the room, so always check the individual event before applying.
For context, at a recent flagship event, 88% of the room had 5+ years' industry experience and the average was 7.4 years.
-
London is our home base right now, with events usually hosted inside the offices of brilliant engineering teams we've partnered with, including Figma, Synthesia and incident.io.
But the community is much bigger than one city and we're already exploring where She Bytes Back goes next 👀
-
Absolutely not.
We're VERY into AI right now because it's completely changing how engineers work, and there are a lot of conversations we think women engineers should be right in the middle of.
But the AI Series is just one part of She Bytes Back. Expect hands-on build sessions, technical talks, career conversations, smaller curated gatherings and plenty more.
-
Our flagship series for experienced women engineers who want to get past the AI hype and talk about how it's actually being used at work.
We're talking workflows, coding agents, experiments, engineering standards, what broke, what's saving hours, what sounded like it could change it all but didn’t work in practice.
-
YES.
You absolutely do not need “AI” or “ML” in your job title.
The AI Series is about how AI is changing the way engineers build software, so if you're figuring out coding agents, agentic workflows, AI-assisted development or simply what the hell your team should actually be doing with all of this - come and join us!
-
We want our events to feel like somewhere you can have genuinely useful conversations with people who understand the work you do.
So for some experiences, we curate applications based on things like role, industry experience and the intended audience for that particular event.
It's one of the reasons the rooms feel the way they do.
